1. 辅音+元音
前面一个单词结尾的辅音与后一个单词开头的元音连读,感觉就像在读一个词,这种情况最常见。
E.g. TPO 6 conversation 1, 时间:0'34”:check it out--- No, no, the career fair is opened to all our students and we encourage anyone who's interested to go check it out.
练习: look at it、lots of、 as if、for example、all of us、a cup of tea、come on、 in August
注意:连读必须发生在短语或句子的同一个意群之中,在意群之间有停顿时,意群间相邻的音不连读。
2. 辅音+辅音
i.失音
前面单词结尾辅音与紧随其后的单词的起始辅音为同一个音时,不用将这个音发两次,而是合并成一个音,同时发音稍微延长。
E.g. TPO 11 lecture 1,时间:3'3” :take care--- What they do is they save their best performances they're most conspicuous and most risky displays for the time just before the baby birds become able to take care of themselves.

ii.失爆
爆破音(/b/,/p/,/d/,/t/,/g/,/k/)+辅音=爆破音失去爆破。读法是留嘴形,不送气。
E.g. TPO 20 conversation 2 时间:2'44”:a good chance--- You really have a good chance of getting the funding.

3. 元音+元音
元音对元音的连读是通过在元音之间插入半元音 [j] 或 [w] 来实现的。这样能够使纯元音音节之间的过渡变得自然、流畅,读起来更加上口。
i. 前面的单词以元音 [e] 或 [i] 结尾,紧随其后的单词以元音开头,这时在两个单词之间出现半元音 [j] 作为过渡。
E.g. TPO 7 lecture 4,时间:1'48”:the end--- If you leave, for example, a bar of ice supported only at one end, the end, the unsupported end will deform under its own way…

ii. 前面的单词以元音 [u] 或 [o] 结尾,紧随其后的单词以元音开头,这时在两个单词之间出现半元音 [w] 作为过渡。
E.g. TPO 5 lecture 2,时间:3'6” :how old --- “But if we know around how old the Basin is, I'm not sure that's reason enough to go to the Moon again.”

托福听力解决方法:
1. 用自己听写过的段子,将里面出现过的连读现象全部标记出来。
2. 跟读这个段子,尽力模仿里面的语音语调,语速由慢到快,将所有出现的连读语音知识全部运用到其中,直到不假思索地熟练运用这些语音知识为止。
